I just read a news report about Nigeria's former president Goodluck Jonathan passing a law that protects women. It is the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015 and the Immigration Act, 2015.This law protects women from going through the agony of having their genitalia removed for no medical reason.
According to the United nations, it is a violation of a person's basic human right to have her genitalia removed or cut.
With many human rights issued going on around the world today. I am happy that the Nigerian girl or woman is now free from the violation of their basic human right.
